HELP PORTRAIT Charleston 2010

It's been a while since my last blog. Sorry. Although I am not sure many people read this anyway....probably because I don't blog enough. lol.

I had a wonderful experience over the holidays that I wanted to share. I got to help out with an organization called Convoy of Hope and more specifically I helped with "Help Portrait," which was part of Convoy of Hope. COH is an outreach program where lots of people, organizations, doctors, hairstylists...get together in one location and provide services to people in need. They hand out food, clothing, shoes, toys and give hair cuts and medical attention where needed. It was amazing! The part that I helped out with was offering free family portraits through a company called "Help Portrait." We had four photographers set up with lights and computers. We shot the images of the people that wanted them, let them review the images and pick out the one they liked. We later had them printed sent to them. Seriously, this was one of the best things I have ever done. It was so amazing to be able to provide a family photo to people that either cannot afford to have it done or may have never even had a photo taken of themselves. I will hopefully get to do this again this year and I encourage you all to go out into the world and get hooked up with some kind of organization and help people. It's such an amazing experience. I know I had a small roll in this bigger thing that was going on around me, but seeing the smiles on their faces when they got to see their photos was crazy wonderful!

"Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor." Proverbs 22:9

Here is a photo collage of some of the images.

movies, weddings, makeup and stuff.

So I have been really busy the past few weeks. School lets out and the jobs roll in, life is good. Okay, here is where I plug a bunch of things....There are a couple of short independent movies being filmed right now that I have the pleasure of helping with, both in makeup and photography. One of them is called Evie. You can find out about it on facebook by searching for "Evie (a short film)." The other movie is called "Gives," you can search for it on facebook as well, it's under "reflecting forward" which was it's original title. I think both of the movies are going to be wonderful. Be sure to look for their premieres later this year. In other news, I have been working hard on two weddings and an engagement shoot that I did recently. Hope to have those done soon and a few pics posted. I have also been getting back into a little design. Look for my work on Ryan Bailey's new album coming out in July. For now you can go to www.Ryanbailey.com and check out his music...and in the mean time for those of you that actually read any of this and are just waiting by the computer for me to post something (yes that's sarcasm), here are a couple of photos from Travis' shoot

Threw this together quickly....practicing.

Gone for awhile....

With life being so full you sometimes forget about things like blogs. My bad. I have been so busy with so many things.....lots of photoshoots, editing photoshoots, car being fixed....which also means being carless, taxes, Thorn production (http://www.thethorn.net/), church, job, life, and well too many things to list. So all that's to say I have been slack and haven't posted anything in a while. I have New York photos that I promised to post and haven't. I have done 4 photoshoots which may or may not get posted....perhaps a few from each. I will get to it, soon, very soon. I may attempt to write something someday too. If I have the time. : )

As for the Thorn production. I have the pleasure of once again being on the makeup team for this amazing production that is going on right now at Seacoast Church in Mt Pleasant. If you have not been able to see this show you must!

Here are a few photos that I have taken from this show....
