HELP PORTRAIT Charleston 2010

It's been a while since my last blog. Sorry. Although I am not sure many people read this anyway....probably because I don't blog enough. lol.

I had a wonderful experience over the holidays that I wanted to share. I got to help out with an organization called Convoy of Hope and more specifically I helped with "Help Portrait," which was part of Convoy of Hope. COH is an outreach program where lots of people, organizations, doctors, hairstylists...get together in one location and provide services to people in need. They hand out food, clothing, shoes, toys and give hair cuts and medical attention where needed. It was amazing! The part that I helped out with was offering free family portraits through a company called "Help Portrait." We had four photographers set up with lights and computers. We shot the images of the people that wanted them, let them review the images and pick out the one they liked. We later had them printed sent to them. Seriously, this was one of the best things I have ever done. It was so amazing to be able to provide a family photo to people that either cannot afford to have it done or may have never even had a photo taken of themselves. I will hopefully get to do this again this year and I encourage you all to go out into the world and get hooked up with some kind of organization and help people. It's such an amazing experience. I know I had a small roll in this bigger thing that was going on around me, but seeing the smiles on their faces when they got to see their photos was crazy wonderful!

"Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor." Proverbs 22:9

Here is a photo collage of some of the images.
